Freelance Commissions

My name is Jonathan, otherwise known as Jonathan Frostathan. I am a music composer and video editor. On one end, I edit my own YouTube videos primarily based on analytical videos about video game characters and music. I prioritize color correction and musical timing, which means I can also edit trailers and other YouTube videos. I also make my own YouTube thumbnails for my videos, as well. The softwares I use are Davinci Resolve and GIMP for video editing and thumbnail design, respectively. On the other end, I specialize in making rock and jazz tracks, but I’m flexible enough to work with just about any traditional genre. I can also sing, rap, and write lyrics. I am able to make an original track for a potential Death Battle matchup or an arrangement of an existing musical piece in a different genre, which will replicate the style of another game, movie, tv series, musician, etc. The software I currently use is Steinberg Cubase Pro 12. General commission guidelines:

  • Expect to wait a minimum of two or three weeks for your commission, especially if there are other commissions before yours. I’m also running a personal YouTube channel and working other jobs, so I’m not always gonna have time to work on commissions every day.

  • You must pay me BEFORE I start working on your commission. If you can’t pay me right away, I will put your commission on hold for five days until you’re able to pay for it.

  • I may need to delay it by another week or so. If that’s the case, I will notify you.

  • I reserve the right to turn down a commission for any reason during the first four days of the commission.

  • When making an arrangement or Death Battle track, I may feel like extending a piece’s length. If this happens, you will not have to pay any extra.

  • I only accept commission payments through Paypal and Venmo.

Video Edits

I charge by the hour for all projects. Basic shorts, reels, and intros will charge less per hour than long-form videos up to ten minutes

YouTube shorts/channel intros/Instagram reels: $15/hour

Long-form YouTube videos: $17/hour

Guidelines:

  • My videos are 1080p and 30 fps.

  • I am not a videographer, so you either have to provide me with footage, let me download stock footage, or help me know where to go for footage.

  • You must tell me how long you want your video to be so that we can determine a price.

  • Please credit me as your editor in the video description when it’s uploaded onto YouTube.

YouTube Thumbnails

YouTube thumbnail: $30

Guidelines:

  • If you have any pictures or logos, please send them my way.

  • Please credit me for the thumbnail in your YouTube video description.

Death Battle Fan Trailer

Trailer up to 30 seconds: $20

Trailer more than 35 seconds: $30

Guidelines:

  • You may request a fan trailer for any matchup regardless of whether it was an episode on Death Battle or not. If it was an existing matchup, I will refer to it as a rematch.

  • If you want me to use the Death Battle banner that you see on the teasers of the actual episodes, please tell me. Otherwise, I will not include it.

Custom Arranged Track

Arrangement up to 3 minutes: $50 ($100 if you need vocals)

Arrangement longer than 3 minutes: $75 + $10 for each additional minute ($125 if you need vocals)

Guidelines:

  • You may request any video game, anime, movie, or popular song in a different style, and you must be specific with your request (ie “At Hell’s Gate in the style of Mario Kart Double Dash” instead of “Doom music in the style of Mario”).

  • Don’t tell me to arrange a tune in the style of the same series (ie nothing like “Emerald Hill Zone in the style of Sonic Colors”).

  • I will not arrange songs that I deem too inappropriate or songs that have slurs in their lyrics.

Death Battle Fan Tracks

Instrumental track up to 3 minutes: $50

Instrumental track longer than 3 minutes: $75 + $10 for each additional 30 seconds

Vocal track up to 3 minutes: $100

Vocal track longer than 3 minutes: $125 + $10 for each additional 30 seconds

Guidelines:

  • You may request a track for any matchup that has not yet been made into a Death Battle episode.

  • You may also request a custom track for an early Death Battle episode that never got an original track.

    • This includes any episode from seasons 1-3 and any episode of season 4 before Shredder vs Silver Samurai (Power Rangers vs Voltron is also excluded because it also had an original track).

  • For instrumental tracks, I get to pick the genre, even for tracks longer than 3 minutes.

  • For vocal tracks, however, you may specify if you would prefer me to sing or rap, and what style you would want me to replicate.
